East Glacier Park (Glacier Park Station)

Glacier Park Station (marketed as East Glacier Park to Amtrak) is the eastern gateway to Glacier National Park, Montana. The classic Great Northern Railway station was built in 1912 and still stands adjacent to the majestic Glacier Park Lodge which was completed a year later. Glacier Park Lodge was the Great Northern Railway's gateway to Glacier National Park and appears much the same as it did when built. Today, the community of East Glacier has a variety of lodging choices and eateries, mostly only open during the park season, early May through late September. The Empire Builder stops here from late April to early October, and the remainder of the year stops in nearby Browning.
